The Surly Ogre can get you to your job during the week, then way out of town on the weekend. The bike handles extremely well when cruising on pavement or gravel but shows it’s true colors when ripping smooth, sweeping singletrack. The Ogre has many of the same features as the Surly Troll — horizontal slotted dropouts with Gnot-Boost spacing, a tweaked non-suspension corrected geometry, and a beefy tire clearance — but in a fast rolling 29er platform. A full array of rack and fender mounts allows riders to haul enough crap with them that they don’t have to go home at the end of the day if they if they don’t want to.
Features:
- 100% Chromoly steel frame and fork with a double-butted front triangle
- Surly Gnot-Boost spacing allowing riders to run 142mm or boost 148mm rear hubs
- Custom horizontal slotted dropouts ready to run single-speed or internally geared hub set-ups
- Seatstay-mounted bottle bosses, plus three-pack mounts at the top and bottom of the down tube
- E.D. coated frame for increased life expectancy
- 27.5″ x 3.0” or 29″ x 2.6″ (2.5″ w/ fenders) max tire clearance
